Here's why Webflow is our top choice when it comes to website building!

Why We Love Webflow

There are heaps of Content Management Systems available for web designers to use. But here at WQ Creative, Webflow is our preferred website building platform. Today, we’ll explore why Webflow is our top choice, and why we love it over Squarespace, Showit, Wix, and Wordpress!

We are Webflow website designers because...

Design Flexibility

One of the top reasons why we love Webflow is because of its design flexibility. It provides complete control when designing the website. It allows pixel-perfect designs and animations that cannot be achieved by other platforms. We also have the flexibility to design responsive websites that work perfectly across all devices.

Customisation

When it comes to customisation, Webflow has the ability to completely customise the website’s design, layout and functionality. It’s such a great platform for custom website development, because it gives us the ability to easily add custom code, API integrations, and CMS integrations to the website.

Speed and Performance

We also love how Webflow is optimised for speed and performance. This makes websites built on this platform perform faster and more responsive. Its hosting infrastructure is top notch, because it ensures that websites load quickly whilst providing a whole other bunch of functionalities that make the website interactive. Did we mention that it also provides a Content Delivery Network that distributes content globally? That also helps in improving website speed and performance.

Collaboration

As websites are continuously a work in progress, we want to make sure that you can hop on it easily to make changes to it as your biz evolves. At times, you may even need help from collaborators to make it happen. Webflow makes this easy by allowing multiple team members to work on the website simultaneously. This feature makes it a whole lot easier to streamline the development process and makes it smoother for teams to collaborate.

Plus, Webflow is a cost-effective solution for website building because it offers a variety of pricing plans that cater to unique needs of businesses of all sizes.

Hosting and Security

Webflow includes reliable and scalable hosting, ensuring your website is fast and secure. Webflow automatically takes care of updates, backups, and SSL certificates, saving you time and effort. This robust hosting infrastructure allows your website to handle high traffic volumes and provides a secure browsing experience for your visitors.

Edit mode

Another top choice why we absolutely think Webflow is the bee’s knees when it comes to CMS’s is its “Edit Mode” feature. We totally understand that our dear clients want to be able to make changes easily on their own, so this feature is the perfect solution for that. With this feature, you can effortlessly edit texts and images without having to worry about the site’s layout. We don’t want you to worry about accidentally ruining your site’s design, and just perform small edits when you need to. With other website builders, simple edits can cause layout issues, but not with Webflow! It makes sure that the design remains intact during the editing process.

Why not other web builders?

While Webflow offers numerous advantages, it's important to consider the drawbacks of other website builders for a fair comparison. Here are some cons associated with popular website builders:

Wix

  • Limited Design Flexibility: While Wix offers a range of templates, the customisation options are more limited compared to Webflow. Users may encounter constraints when trying to achieve unique or complex designs.
  • SEO Limitations: Wix has made improvements in its SEO capabilities, but it still falls short compared to platforms like Webflow. Users have less control over crucial SEO elements, which can impact search engine rankings.

Squarespace

  • Code Limitations: Squarespace emphasises a user-friendly interface, but this comes at the expense of code-level control. Developers may find it restrictive when attempting advanced customisations or integrating complex functionalities.
  • E-commerce Limitations: While Squarespace provides basic e-commerce features, it may not be suitable for larger online stores that require extensive inventory management or more advanced sales and marketing tools.
  • It can also be time consuming when making bulk edits (such as adding blogs) on the site.

Shopify

  • Learning Curve: Shopify is primarily focused on e-commerce, and its interface may be overwhelming for users who only need a simple website without robust e-commerce functionality. Beginners may require more time to learn and navigate the platform effectively.
  • Customisation Constraints: While Shopify offers a range of themes and templates, making significant design customisations often requires knowledge of Shopify's proprietary Liquid code. This can be a barrier for non-technical users.

Showit:

  • Limited E-commerce Functionality: Showit's primary focus is on design and user experience, which means its e-commerce capabilities are more limited compared to dedicated e-commerce platforms like Shopify or Webflow. It may not be suitable for businesses that require extensive online store management features.
  • Learning Curve for Customization: Showit's interface is intuitive for designing visually appealing websites, but it may have a steeper learning curve when it comes to advanced customizations. Users may need to rely on third-party integrations or coding knowledge for more complex design and functionality modifications.
  • Expensive for what it offers: while the pricing is similar to Webflow it doesn't offer anywhere near enough of the abilities.

WordPress

  • Complexity for Beginners: WordPress is a powerful platform with extensive customisation options, but it can be daunting for beginners without coding or web development experience. Setting up and maintaining a WordPress site may require a steeper learning curve.
  • Plugin Compatibility: WordPress relies heavily on plugins to extend its functionality. However, compatibility issues between plugins or between plugins and WordPress updates can arise, potentially affecting site performance or security.

Weebly

  • Limited Code-Level Access: Weebly provides a user-friendly interface, but it lacks the ability to access or modify the underlying code. This can be restrictive for users who prefer more control over the website's design or functionality.
  • Integration Limitations: While Weebly offers a decent range of integrations and add-ons, it may not have the same extensive ecosystem as platforms like WordPress or Shopify, limiting the available third-party options.

Seems like the easy choice....

Taking all of these into consideration, it feels like finding the perfect fit when we found Webflow. It’s like finding an outfit that feels just right when you try it on. It ticks all our requirements with its unparalleled design flexibility, customisation options, speed and performance, ease of use, collaboration features, and cost-effectiveness.
