Your business has outgrown your brand. Let's fix that.
A brand strategy session and written strategy document that gives you clear positioning, messaging that actually works, and a foundation you can build your website and everything else on.

If this sounds familiar...
You've been in business long enough to know your work is genuinely good. Your clients get results. Your referrals are strong. But somewhere between the quality of what you do and the way your brand presents it, something is getting lost.
Your website doesn't quite reflect where you actually are. Your messaging feels like it was written for an earlier version of your business. When you try to explain what you do, it doesn't come out the way it should.
You've probably tweaked headlines, changed photos, wondered if you need a full redesign. Nothing quite lands. Because none of those things fix a positioning problem. You can't design your way out of a strategy gap.
This is for you if:
- You've been in business for at least 2 years and have a track record of genuine results for clients
- Your referrals are strong but your inbound enquiries don't reflect the quality of what you do
- You've invested in your brand before and something still doesn't feel right
- You want to get the strategy right before spending money on a website or rebrand
- You're a service business owner who knows the work is good but the brand hasn't caught up
This is not for you if:
- You're just starting out and haven't worked with clients yet
- You want a logo or a visual refresh without the strategic foundation underneath it
- You've already decided what your positioning is and just want someone to execute it
- You're not willing to do the thinking the session requires : strategy takes honesty about your business

What changes when the positioning is right.
You know exactly what to say about your business. The fumbling stops. The website copy flows. The pitch makes sense. When your positioning is clear, the words come because the thinking underneath them is solid.
Your brand reflects where your business actually is. Not where it started five years ago. Not a generic version of your industry. The specific thing that makes your work yours, articulated in a way that lands with the right people.
Everything else becomes easier. Your website, your content, your pricing conversations, your pitches. All of it is harder when the strategy underneath it is vague. All of it gets easier when it isn't.

Who does the strategy.
I'm Hayley Philip, brand strategist and founder of WQ Creative. I've spent over a decade working across design, brand strategy, and digital.
In that time I've worked with service businesses of every size, from solo practitioners to established teams. And the same pattern shows up every single time. The work is genuinely excellent. The brand just hasn't kept up.
That gap between how good a business is and how the market sees it is the only problem I've built my career around solving. The brand strategy session is where I find exactly where it lives in yours.

"I'll do the strategy when I'm ready for a full rebrand."
This is the most common reason people delay. And it's usually why they end up rebuilding twice.
The brief I give a designer with a strategy is a completely different document to the brief I give without one. The copy a writer produces with a clear positioning is different too. Without strategy, everyone is working from a guess, including you.
The businesses that got the strategy right first moved faster, spent less, and ended up with work they didn't need to revisit. The ones who built first and came back had built something beautiful for a positioning that wasn't quite right.
Strategy first is always the cheaper option.
Frequently Asked Questions
It's a focused working session, usually 90 minutes to 2 hours, where I ask questions designed to surface your positioning. We cover what you do, who you do it for, what makes your approach genuinely different, and where the gap between your business and your brand is. It's a conversation, not a presentation. You don't need to prepare anything except honesty about your business.
Your positioning statement, messaging framework, ideal client profile (with the language your clients actually use, not marketing speak), brand voice and tone, and your competitive differentiation. Everything a designer, copywriter, or developer needs to build your brand correctly, and everything you need to show up consistently across your own content.
Not at all. Some clients take the strategy document and work with their own designer or copywriter. Others come back to me for the full brand and website build. The document is yours to use however you need it. If you do want the full build, having the strategy done first means that work moves much faster.
From your session to receiving your strategy document, allow approximately 1 to 2 weeks. The session itself is usually 90 minutes to 2 hours.
If your current brand was built without a formal strategy, or if your business has grown significantly since it was built, then yes. This isn't about starting from scratch visually. It's about getting clear on where your business actually is now and making sure your brand positioning reflects that. A lot of brands look fine on the surface. The positioning underneath is what's doing the real damage.
